Mathias and Mahler Take on Montana

      In just one week from today, Mckenzie and I each will be teaching a week-long unit on Global Agriculture in Kalispell, Montana! We are a part of a launch program called GOALs (or Global Orientation for Agricultural Learning) that is partnered with the World Food Prize, USDA NIFA, the University of Idaho, and, of course, Penn State! Last semester we dove into global food insecurity and were able to attend the 2021 World Food Prize. Kickin' Off GLAG22!

       Penn State has offered me many new opportunities- from living and working at the dairy, to attending the 2021 World Food Prize, and now getting to be a part of a community of learners called GLAG! GLAG stands for Global Learning in Agriculture.    What is GLAG?       I had never heard of GLAG until I met Dr. Foster this fall. The GLAG community is huge! There are over 1,000 participants from around the world: all 50 U.S. states and roughly 45 countries are represented this year. GLAG is a virtual conference held on Whova, a platform that makes it easy for everyone in this global community to communicate as easily as we can. Since this is a global community, all areas of the world are taken for account.
